Implementing Social Media in the Classroom: Pedagogical Strategies
My proposed session idea stems my experience as a secondary school history teacher and my efforts to incorporate social media tools and resources into my pedagogy. Specifically I’m interested in the use of Diigo to improve student research, how to use Twitter to foster collaborative work and more in-depth communication, how to incorporate blogs into the classroom as the primary means of student writing, and other similar topics.
Broadly, the session would focus on and discuss:
1) designing and implementing the social media classroom; and/or
2) using social media to improve and enhance student research and writing
